Australia Day Stitch Markers

Australia Day Stitch Markers

Hi everyone! I’m so excited to share something special I’ve just launched—my Australia Day Stitch Markers! These little beauties are not only practical for keeping track of your crochet or knitting progress, but they’re also a fun way to celebrate Aussie pride while you craft.

When someone says Australia Day, I think of the Aussie summer—being at the beach or a local park, having a good old Aussie BBQ with a picnic rug and a cold, refreshing drink. Australia Day to me means spending time with family and loved ones, appreciating this beautiful country and the freedoms it provides us.

I also love the idea of bringing Aussie icons and symbols into our everyday lives. Having something around you as a tiny reminder to appreciate the little things every day is so special. That’s exactly why I’ve created my Aussie Day Stitch Marker collection.

These stitch markers are made from sustainable Australian wood, so they’re lightweight, eco-friendly, and uniquely yours. I wanted to create something that reflects our beautiful country and our love for handmade creations.

If you’re like me and love crocheting adorable little things, these stitch markers are the perfect excuse to dive into some fun amigurumi projects! Here are a few pattern ideas that would pair beautifully with your new markers:

  1. Koala Keychain - Nothing says Australia like a cute koala! A small keychain-sized koala is a quick and satisfying project. I found a gorgeous free pattern on Ravelry here.

  2. Mini Kangaroo with a Joey - A little kangaroo holding its baby is a heart-meltingly cute project. It’s also a great gift for friends or family who love Aussie wildlife. I found a cute pattern on Ravelry here with three different sizes to make.

  3. Eucalyptus Leaves or Flowers - Create tiny eucalyptus leaves or flowers to use as embellishments or decorations. They’re simple and perfect for beginners too. This pattern is sprays of round eucalyptus leaves, great for vases but if you are looking for softer leaves that will hang and have natural movement then this is the pattern for you!

  4. Platypus Plushie - Make an adorable platypus plushie to add a quirky touch to your collection. This pattern is super cute! perfect for a little one who loves their Aussie animals!

These stitch markers are special because they’re eco-friendly and Australian-made. Crafted from sustainable Aussie wood, these markers are designed with love for the environment in mind. They’re also light and easy to use, so they won’t weigh down your project, making them perfect for delicate and intricate work.

I’d love to see your Australia Day projects! Whether you’re working on amigurumi, a summer shawl, or something completely unique, share your creations and tag me on social media. Let’s spread the joy of handmade crafts together!
