Hygge Burst hexie blanket.
Hi yarn enthusiasts,
As soon as I saw this pattern I knew it would be perfect to showcase my speckled yarn and boy, was I right! I think this blanket turned out even better than I thought.
This is a paid pattern by NautiKrall Crochet (you can find it on Ravelry here) and it’s great to support such amazing designers but if that’s not your thing (and you don’t mind navigating around all the ads) the pattern is available for free on her blog here.
I love making squares and hexies. They are great for on-the-go WIPS and it’s easy when you can use a join-as-you-go method too. I made all the inner circles using two red speckle yarn cakes and then joined them all together using one white cake. My blanket measures 80cm by 86cm. Each hexie measures just over 10cm across.
The best thing about square or hexie patterns is that you can easily make your blanket whatever size you like, so they are perfect for baby blankets or single bed size blankets! You can do whatever size works for you!
making smaller individual hexies makes it easier to take your crochet with you. All you need is your yarn, hook and a pair of small scissors all of which fit into a small bag. Easy!

I couldn’t do this without you!
