There is something so comforting about a freshly baked apple pie. Golden pastry, soft juicy apples and the sweet aroma filling the kitchen... it's the kind of dessert that brings everyone together on a cold winter's evening.

Inspired by this much-loved Aussie winter favourite, Apple Pie layers warm biscuit tones with soft creamy highlights to capture the golden pastry and tender baked apples fresh from the oven. The gentle tonal shades create beautiful depth in every stitch, resulting in a colourway that feels warm, comforting and effortlessly timeless.

For larger projects, pair Apple Pie with our coordinating Biscuit solid colour to extend the warm pastry tones throughout your blanket or garment. Together they create a beautiful combination that's soft, cosy and full of winter warmth.

Whether you're crocheting a cosy blanket, a soft garment or a treasured handmade gift, Apple Pie brings the warmth of home and the simple joy of sharing dessert with the people you love to every project.

These cakes are different than the rest

These special cakes are hand-painted so they are more unique than my solid range. They are sold in 100g cakes giving you less ends to weave in and are the equivalent of two solid yarn cakes. This range is designed to co-ordinate beautifully with the rest of the Yazzy's Yarn collection and can be complemented by matching solid colours.

Will the colours look exactly like the photos?

I do my best to photograph colours as accurately as possible, but screens can vary slightly. Each batch is also hand-dyed, so there may be small variations… that’s part of what makes each piece unique.

Are all yarn cakes exactly the same?

Because each cake is hand-dyed in small batches, there can be subtle differences between them. They’re designed to work beautifully together, but no two are completely identical.

How do I find the start of the yarn?

All of my yarn is wound into cakes rather than hanks, so it’s ready to use straight away… no winding needed.

Each cake also includes a small “start here” tab tucked inside to help you find the end quickly.

It’s a simple little thing, but it makes getting started so much easier… and helps avoid the dreaded yarn barf 😄

What can I make with this yarn?

4ply is perfect for lightweight garments, shawls, baby blankets and fine detailed projects.
8ply works up a little quicker and is great for garments, accessories and everyday makes.

How much yarn do I need?

Each cake is 50g, and yarn requirements will depend on your project. Most projects will use multiple cakes depending on the size and style.

If you’re unsure, you’re always welcome to reach out. You can use the chat box on the website or send me a message on social media… it all comes straight to me, so you’ll be chatting with a real person (me 😄), not a bot.

Where do you source your yarn?

I source my yarn through a woollen mill here in NSW, which is something that’s really important to me as a small Australian business.

While the base yarn itself is imported, supporting local suppliers and businesses is something I always prioritise where I can.

All yarn is then hand-dyed by me in my home studio.

Need help choosing your yarn?

If you’re not quite sure what you need, I’m always happy to help.

You can reach me through the chat box on the bottom of this page or over on social media… it all comes straight to me, so you’ll be chatting with a real person (me 😄).

How is the yarn packaged for posting?

All orders are packed using eco-friendly packaging wherever possible. I try to keep things simple, minimal, and kind to the environment while still making your order feel special when it arrives.
